Chames Kermi, PharmD, PhD, MBA

Chames Kermi focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and supporting investment opportunities across biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, healthtech, and emerging healthcare technologies. He brings more than a decade of experience spanning drug development, translational science, venture evaluation, and company creation, with particular expertise in oncology, regenerative medicine, and AI-enabled life sciences platforms.

At Advantary, Chames sources and evaluates early-stage companies, conducts scientific and commercial diligence, and works with founders, investors, clinicians, and industry experts to assess market opportunities, technical feasibility, competitive differentiation, and strategic fit.

Chames is also the founder and CEO of AEGIS BIO, an oncology supportive-care biotechnology company developing innovative therapies intended to reduce cisplatin-related toxicities while preserving anticancer efficacy. Previously, he served as a Principal Scientist and Project Manager at Pfizer’s Centers for Therapeutic Innovation, where he led cross-functional therapeutic programs, evaluated external innovation, and managed collaborations with biotechnology companies, academic institutions, and contract research organizations. Earlier in his career, he conducted research at Stanford School of Medicine, the Institute of Human Genetics in Montpellier, and Sanofi.

His combined experience as a scientist, founder, operator, and venture professional enables him to translate complex scientific and commercial information into actionable investment recommendations and to support life sciences companies from early discovery through value-creating development milestones.

Chames earned an MBA from Babson College, a PhD in Human Genetics and Cell Biology and an MSc in Pharmaceutical Product Research and Development from the University of Montpellier, trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University and completed a PharmD from Mentouri University.
